You Are Unfolding

One morning, as I was getting ready, I felt the Spirit whisper a single word to me: unfolding. I asked the Spirit about it and it's meaning throughout the week. I had been going deeper into the concept of putting off the old man and putting on the new. 1st Corinthians 5:17 teaches us about the new creation in Christ we become.
•Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! NIV
•This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! NLT
•Now if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.
As soon as we accept Jesus into our hearts and lives as Lord and Savior, our spirits are transformed! We become brand new, just like a caterpillar metamorphoses into a butterfly! You are two totally different creatures after the transformation. There is the old you and a new you.
However our minds have not changed. Our immediate task now is to renew our minds to all the truth about who God is and who we are. And this is where the word 'unfolding' comes into play. I often wish for a quicker transformation, but God in His wisdom, is never in a rush. Since He already knows everything, I imagine He never needs to be in a hurry. God's divine plans unfold like the blooming of a flower.
The Spirit showed me a picture in my mind of a folded napkin. I took it by the corner and shook it up until it opened all the way. I had to really shake it good. Then the Spirit painted a picture in my mind of a napkin, tightly folded into a square. I saw it unfold slowly and realized this is how He helps us renew our minds and become transformed. Growing in Christ is like the unfolding of flower petals.
As I continued to meditate on this concept I saw the slow motion blooming of a beautiful flower and knew this is how God sees us as we renew our minds. I made a video about this to share with you. I hope it blesses you and you become comfortable with the speed of your own transformation.
