It's Not "If You Can" It's "He Already Has"

There’s a moment in Scripture that captures both the desperation of human need and the boundless compassion of Jesus. A father brings his suffering son—tormented since childhood by seizures and demonic attacks—to Jesus. The disciples had tried to help, but nothing worked. This father, worn and weary, looks to Jesus and says, “If You can do anything, please help us.”
Jesus immediately responds to that small word — if. "If you can?" said Jesus. “Everything is possible for the one who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
In that instant, the man’s heart is laid bare. With tears streaming down his face, he cries out, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.”And Jesus does what only He can do — He commands the unclean spirit to leave, and it obeys.
What a picture of mercy and power. But here’s what’s even more amazing: we live on this side of the cross. Unlike that father, we aren’t pleading with Jesus for something uncertain. We’re standing in the finished work of Christ — His death, His resurrection, and His victory over every power of darkness.
Jesus has already conquered every sickness, disease, and demonic force. He holds authority over all principalities and powers. When we come to Him now, we’re not asking if He can — we’re believing that He already has.

Faith isn’t about trying harder or convincing ourselves. It’s about resting in what’s already been done. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. The resurrected Christ—the Champion of Heaven—dwells within every believer who opens their heart to Him.
That means the battle has already been won. The enemy is already defeated. And we are already empowered to live the very life Jesus lived — a life of victory, peace, and divine authority.
But here’s the key: faith believes first, and then sees. God doesn’t work through our five senses; He moves through faith — Spirit to spirit. If we doubt or waver, we cut off the flow of grace and slip back into striving. But when we stand firm in faith, believing that every promise of God is already “Yes and Amen” in Christ, we open the door for His life to flow through us.
So today, let your heart rest in this truth: Jesus has already said yes.His promises are alive. And the same power that healed that boy long ago now lives in you.
Stand firm. Believe. Receive. Then walk it out — not in fear or striving, but in confidence that it’s already done. Because all things truly are possible for those who believe.
