I am a trailblazer learning to walk in rhythm with the Spirit, the Holy Spirit. My goal is to develop a rhythm in my life that beats with the heartbeat of the Spirit. Today, I will be focusing on Galatians 5:25.

- Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. NIV

- If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. KJV

- If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage--our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit.] AMP

- If the Spirit is the source of our life, we must also allow the Spirit to direct every aspect of our lives. TPT

The NIV and the KJV both speak about living and walking in tandem with the Spirit, conjuring up a mental picture of riding on a bicycle built for two! Have you ever ridden on one? The person up front steers the bike and also regulates the power and speed. In first-century culture, a similar comparison might be the oxen and the yoke. Matthew 11:28-29 says, "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Living and walking in rhythm with the Spirit should not feel burdensome. When in rhythm with the Spirit, you should be experiencing peace, confidence, and energy, just like if you're riding in the backseat of a tandem bike! Jesus is up front steering and knowing how far or fast you can go.

However, we are not attached to a bicycle with Jesus. So we must listen intently for the nudging and whisper of the Spirit and joyfully surrender our moments to Him daily. Jesus said He delighted to do His Father's will. "I am His messenger and He is always with Me, for I only do that which delights His heart." -John 8:29 TPT. We must be convinced that everything God does all the time is always good, then we too will delight to follow the Spirit's whispers.

Challenges are inevitable, and every mountain climb demands strength and endurance. Remember, at the end of every mountain climb is the most glorious view you've ever seen. You will see a view of Jesus that is always spectacular! The climb is always worth the effort when you are in rhythm with the Spirit.

I invite you to follow me as I blaze a trail through scripture that will encourage you to connect intimately with the rhythm of the Spirit. We will explore the AMP and the TPT versions of Galatians 5:25 in the next post.
